Robert Allan, PhD, LMFT

Robert has been helping couples, individuals, and families improve their most important relationships, health, and well-being for over 25 years. Since 2004, he has practiced psychotherapy in a variety of settings, including community mental health, hospitals, and employee assistance programs. In addition to his work providing therapy to clients at Colorado Counseling Center’s Denver office,  Robert teaches as an Assistant Professor in the Counseling Program at the University of Colorado Denver.

Robert earned his Doctorate Degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Prior to that, he earned a Masters Degree in Counseling and a Bachelors degree in Psychology.

Robert has a passion for couples counseling, as evidenced by his extensive post graduate training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) as well as other approaches. Robert is a Certified EFT Therapist and Supervisor.

When working with families in therapy, Robert uses a systemic approach, exploring how problems developed and are sustained within a family system, and helps families develop a plan to improve the situation for all of those involved.
