Lisa Rosen, M.A., LPC
Lisa grew up in Colorado and graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. After graduating, she worked at the Devereux Cleo Wallace Center Residential Treatment center for at-risk youth as a supervisor and team leader. Her experience working with these challenging and amazing teenagers sparked her desire to pursue a Master’s Degree in psychotherapy.
Lisa earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Santa Barbara, California with a focus on marriage and family issues. Lisa had wonderful experiences at Antioch, including working as a team supervisor of a vocational and rehabilitation program for mentally ill adults, an internship helping at-risk high school students, and working with elderly clients on a range of issues.
Lisa brings a wealth of diverse experience to her work as a counselor at Colorado Counseling Center. After graduate school, Lisa has worked as a clinician assisting people with brain injuries and related mental health issues, as a supervisor at a Denver-based non-profit serving families with children who have suffered abuse or neglect, and as a counselor for individuals and families, helping them develop strategies to move beyond traumatic events and unhealthy patterns of behavior.
Lisa cares deeply about helping her clients, and does so with compassion, patience, and understanding, while seeking to improve as a therapist every day.
Lisa has completed numerous intensive trainings on couples and family therapy, with a concentration on Emotionally Focused Therapy or EFT, a proven method to achieve meaningful, lasting changes in your life and relationships. It is especially valuable for couples and families who want to improve their connection, fight less, and understand each other better.
In her work with individuals, Lisa uses her training in AEDP counseling; an approach that focuses on helping people tap into their natural (but sometimes undiscovered) qualities of resilience, strength, compassion, and authenticity.
Some of Lisa’s counseling specialties include:
- Marriage Counseling
- Individual Counseling
- Depression Counseling
- Women’s Issues
