Kevin Hales, M.A., LPC
Kevin brings a deep sense of compassion and kindness to his counseling, as well as a mature and perceptive understanding of people and relationships. Kevin’s clients find that he wholeheartedly devotes himself to helping them heal and learn how to move forward.
Kevin holds degrees both in Professional Counseling and Marriage, Family, & Human Development.
Having spent 9 years on active duty in the Air Force, Kevin has had diverse life experiences that give him the ability to empathize and feel with his clients in unique ways. He has traveled and lived all over the world, allowing him to connect with and understand the variety of circumstances and situations you might be experiencing. Kevin deeply believes that all people have an inherent need to connect, matter and be loved by those closest to them, especially with one’s partner/spouse.
Kevin’s training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) allows him to help couples and individuals in distress. His approach is holistic, with an emphasis on the emotional elements that often are too easily overlooked and/or ignored.
In his work with individuals, Kevin uses his training in AEDP counseling; an approach that focuses on helping people tap into their natural (but sometimes undiscovered) qualities of resilience, strength, compassion, and authenticity.
Having spent time in the military, Kevin is particularly able to relate to Veterans and men in particular, helping them feel at ease and to talk about the hard things that they don’t normally like to talk about.
Some of Kevin’s counseling specialties include:
- Marriage Counseling
- Pre-marital Counseling
- Individual Counseling
- Depression Counseling
- Military Individuals/Families
- Pornography Addictions / Compulsive Sexual Behavior
- Young Adults
- Parenting Issues
- AEDP Counseling – Level 1 Therapist
Some of Kevin’s finest qualities are his loyalty, his trustworthiness, and his authenticity—people tend to feel quickly at ease with him, and are confident in his care. Kevin has completed advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples.
